I always come back to "Sometimes By Step" by Rich Mullins. My favorite line refers to our walk with God and says "I may falter in my steps, but never beyond Your reach." To think that our God's love for us is infintely reaching out to us is overwhelming especially in terms of the shallow relationships we have with those around us at times.

I'm not a christian but I once heard a powerful hymn on the radio performed by a group unfamiliar to me. The song is called A Mighty Fortress is our God. I enjoyed the way it was organized and I also liked it because I'd read a long time ago the words of that hymn and found them very comforting.

A mighty fortress is our god
A bulwark never failing...

Also:

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me;
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.

I consider these two songs the most powerful.

I think the hymn I like the most is, "How Great Thou Art". I also have two favorite songs by Michael W Smith: "I'll Lead You Home," and "I'll Be Around".

Hi all,

...just logged onto web place: http://www.littleleaf.com/amazinggrace.htm AND noted it was taking awhile longer to load...BEFORE it was more like say, "instant access," so I went thru and read web page and at top it says, "To Hear one of the Most Moving, Heartfelt and Emotional Renditions of Amazing Grace ever made, enter HERE. It is not to be missed."

...so I clicked at the "here" and was lead through like a couple of links and then returned back to this web page or maybe it just seems to be taking longer to load...

...anyhow if return to the web page listed like almost right away then the song, "Amazing Grace," begins almost immediately to play...at First it Sounds like the rumble of Thunder and as continues a Flute can be heard then contineous thunderings echo's forth intermingled with the gently playing Flute.

POST SCRIPT: Close the web place page before once again like activating the web place. To say make the "sample" last just a bit longer... (CG)

I love "I'm falling on my knees," because it just shows that we truely hunger and thirst for more of Jesus. That we truely long to be at His feet, that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Also "I have fallen" by Kutless. That song has really spoken to me in this past year as a senior. Many things have changed at home, at school, but when they sing "Will you help me fall apart, pick me up, take me in Your arms..." It once again shows that Jesus will never stop careing for each of us. None is greater than another. Even though the world around you may be falling apart, Jesus is right there to pick you up again.

I like most music by Nichole Nordeman. She has a lot of songs that touch me deeply, so I'm not even going to list them all. I also like a couple of Chris Rice songs. Most notably, the song "And Your Priase Goes On," and "An Unnamed Hymn," which is also known as "come to Jesus."

Post 19 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Thursday, 02-Nov-2006 14:34:00

I also love the songs Here with me by MercyMe.

Voice of truth, by casting crowns.

Praise you in this storm by Casting crowns.

And Above all by Michael W Smith

Michael W. Smith is awesome, but I like his songs from the 90's and early 2000's better than his new stuff. My favorite song by him is Live the Life.

Post 21 by OrangeDolphinSpirit (Despite the cost of living, have you noticed how popular it remains?) on Friday, 03-Nov-2006 4:57:18

I like "The Power of the Cross" by Phillips, Craig and Dean and "When God Ran", also by them. Both are really awesome songs. I like anything they sing, really. I also like FFH's "Waltz for Jennifer" and "Fly Away". *SMILE* Oh, and let's not forget Steven Curtis Chapman's "Diving In"! That one brings back memories of good times. I also love the words. Very moving song for me.

I like the song like a rose I think it's called.
"Like a rose trampled on the ground. You took the fall and thought of me above all."
that one used to make me cry along with
allot of keith green music. I will put links to some of his lyrics here. I loved his stuff he died in the early eighties but his music was introduced to me when I was young and some of it brought me to instant tears.

Yesterday I heard a christian song that really said a lot to me. It was in spanish, "La Villa Dolorosa" I think is the name of it. It was powerful because the words clearly capture what Jesus Christ must have experienced. It's hard for me to believe that I can benefit in some way from the sufferings of christ, that's what the song says: he was spat upon, he was flogged, he was insulted, crucified and died, all for me? It's hard to believe. :)

My Spanish teacher, who is a num, always had her students listen to Down the Villa Dolorosa throughout Lent. She played it in English, then in Spanish, and it was equally touching.

OK. Here comes a Christmas song. We bought the Mercy Me Christmas Sessions album this year. The last song is called Joseph's Lullaby. Its written from Joseph's point of view. He's telling Jesus to "go to sleep my son." He goes on to ask God to just for this one moment in time to let Jesus be his (Joseph's) child. It is absolutely beautiful.

Lately I have lost so many friends, either by death, or they have just forgot about life, and moved on. It has been spread out through the last year. First it was one of my cottage parents whom I had grown to loved in the short spand. Then another, and another, and another. I have been wondering how much more I can handle, but as I begin to listen to my music, Kutless always comes on with their songs that digs deep in to the heart. One is in God's point of view as He is asking us not to walk away or to stop believing. He says that His plans for us are mumorous. If we would just hold fast to His Word, that we would be fine.

There's also another song in God's eyes asking us if we can feel the winds of change. The constent change, and if we have ever felt like giving up. It goes on to say that He will give us wings to set us free. That these wind of changes are only possible throug Him alone. Alough it may hurt to go through the changes now, it will be rewarding sooner or later.

Finally, there is a song by Lindzie Kane that I have found on MySpace. She states in the beginning a few verses where God tells us that we are "beautifully and wonderfully made." That His throughts towards you are all wonderful.
"Lord give me eyes to see... the way You measure beauty."

I don't know if this counts, maybe it does because the band who wrote this is a christian rock band, but the song that touches me is good enough by Lifehouse. yes I know it was written for the disney movie "the wild," but the song stands alone too. type lifehouse, good enough into your google search and you'll find it. it's a great song.

Post 36 by DancingAfterDark (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 12-Mar-2007 18:09:00

I'm not a Christian, but I do listen to quite a bit of Christian music. My list would be way too long if I tried to name all the songs I find touching, but just as an example:
Why - Nichole Nordeman (it's better live, in my humble opinion)
Indescribable, Give Us Clean Hands, How Great Is Our God, Holy Is the Lord, More Than Enough, Be Glorified .... pretty much every Chris Tomlin song I've ever heard
Here I Go Again, Love Them Like Jesus, What If His People Prayed, Set Me Free, et cetera - Casting Crowns
these three songs by the Pool Boys ... I dunno what they're called
Getting into You and More Than Useless - Relient K
And the list goes on.

Post 37 by DancingAfterDark (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 12-Mar-2007 18:13:38

Oh, and this doesn't exactly fit here, because I don't know that they so much touch me, but "My Father's House" and "Never Gonna Be As Big As Jesus" by Audio Adrenaline are awesome songs. I saw Audio Adrenaline in concert at YEC (Youth Evangelism Conference) when I was still doin' the Christian thing, and they rock my face off.

I just heard a song earlier today that almost made me cry and did make my mom cry. It was "Jesus Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood. It reminded us of my aunt and grandma. My aunt had fallen asleep while driving home from Mexico, and she and Grandma died. (We were in a different vehicle but found out what happened.) Anyway, I felt like maybe God decided that was just their time to go (because they probably could have made it because my cousin had but they didn't. They were very good people though and we miss them. And it also touched my mom because she had a nervous breakdown at one point (because of work-related stress), and sometimes has trouble with depression and says at those points she really thinks to put things in God's Hands. It kind of made me think that too, that I should let Him "take the wheel", as the song says, although it's hard because I'm still at a point where I want to handle everything for myself. But at the same time, I also know that God has and will bring about experiences in my life that I can learn from and that will always mean something. But when I hear that song, it will always remind me that I should talk to and try to "listen" to God more often.

I have so many favorite songs that touch me, but one that does it every time is "I feel Jesus"

I feel Jesus
I feel Jesus
I feel Jesus in this place
Though my soul doth burn within me
I feel Jesus in this place

Every time we sing it in church the Holy Spirit just touches me and I'm in tears. He really knows how to work on us doesn't He?
